OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION:

Diving can be a lifetime adventure for you and your entire family! Submerge yourself and pursue the excitement and adventure of diving with SCUBA SPHERE! The ideal way to begin your adventure is with SCUBA SPHERE'S Open Water Course. Under the guidance of one of our professional Instructors, you'll develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy a lifetime of underwater exploration.  Our Instructors believe that a confident, comfortable diver begins with having the proper skills, equipment, training, and knowledge that is received through the comfort through repetition training.  The comfort through repetition training is explained below with the 1, 2, 3 approach to teaching diving.


1. STUDY ACADEMIC MATERIALS AT HOME.
Start your adventure today with our top-rated home study program. At your convenience, and in the comfort of your own home, you review the text, watch a full-motion video, and complete the end of chapter review questions/study guide.  The answers to each chapter are than transferred to student answer sheets which we refer to as tickets to class.  These tickets to class are required by the instructor first night of class.


2. COMPLETE ACADEMIC REVIEW & POOL SESSIONS
After expanding on the knowledge you bring to class with your "tickets to class", completing an equipment review session, and academic examination, it's off to the pool to become comfortable and proficient with your new scuba skills and equipment under the guidance of a professional SCUBA SPHERE INSTRUCTOR.


3. COMPLETE OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION DIVES
Let's go diving! You will join your SCUBA SPHERE INSTRUCTOR for two exciting days of scuba diving. There you will apply all the knowledge and skills from steps 1 and 2. You can make the dives locally or join a scheduled trip to a diving destination. A referral can also be arranged if you already have a vacation planned (which is taking paperwork showing your completion of your academics and pool sessions to a certified referral participant and finishing your diving for your certification on your vacation.  Once back from your vacation, bring back the completed paperwork and we will finish the process of getting you your certification card).

What is included in the SCUBA SPHERE course:

Our open water course includes the use of state-of-the-art life support equipment which includes: tanks, regulator, octopus/airsource, buoyancy compensator with and without weight integration, submersible pressure gauge, depth gauge, dive computer, weights and weight belt.

As a student you will receive from SCUBA SPHERE: a text book w/ study guide, waterproof dive tables, all class handouts, bag to carry class materials, photo for your certification card and your open water certification card.

SCUBA SPHERE offers a variety of class schedules to help meet the needs of almost everyone.  However, our normal class schedule has the following format:

Thursday 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm Class--at Scuba Sphere

Friday 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm Pool

Saturday 9:00 am to 12pm Pool

Certification will be finished over Saturday and Sunday of your scheduled Open Water weekend.  Times for the weekend of diving will normally be conducted at Athens Scuba Park located in Athens Texas on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to noon.  Once complete here you will be a certified Open Water Diver for a lifetime of adventure!
